Book Sharing

I finally have time to sit down and read a book after completion of church events and my Japanese class. (I really like to attend my Japanese class as it is very fun to learn and practice Japanese language with classmates.)

I am reading a book named "Deliver Me" by Richard Exley. It talks about how to avoid temptation and its consequences. I picked up this book in our church library awhile ago. It reminds us that the enemy first tempts us with insignificant things. Each insignificant thing or "each sinful act, no matter how small, is like a seed sown in the soil of our soul...If we remain faithful here, our spiritual character is reinforced. Conversely, if we fail here, we risk setting in motion in pattern of compromises that will eventually lead us to ruin." Also, "no one is immune to temptation". It's so true in the above quotation! Even though I am still on first chapter of this book, I totally agree with the quotation that it's very easy to fall into temptation and have negative thoughts in our busy daily lives.

I hope I can continue to read this book and learn how to overcome temptation wisely. :)

大力菜在那裏?

This scripture was shared by Pastor Rebecca in one of her sermons a few months ago. The chinese version of it is「你們得救在乎歸回安息, 你們得力在乎平靜安穩。」 賽30:15.
However, it was the English version of this scripture that got my attention.

"In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength." Isaiah 30:15

There is only one song that explains this scripture completely-"Still". (one of my favourite songs) You will understand why I feel so encouraging and inspiring by listening to this song & lyrics again. The following link is a group dance with "Still" as the theme song, presented by a group of Korean christians.

Thanks God for giving me a nice break on last Friday and Saturday. May God helps me to have faith in Him when dealing with unanswered questions in my life, customers at my workplace, and servings in church. May this scripture also strengthen your everyday life.

That was easy

I remember I had a conversation with several of my friends regarding easy button awhile ago. I wish my life could be as easy as the voice coming from the button..."that was easy." I wish I could pressed the easy button and all the problems and work in front of me would be gone. As I have mentioned to some of my friends, both of my body and mind were fully occupied in the last couple of weeks.

1)Shortage of staff at work since Feb 19,08: One colleague was on holiday and the other colleague left our company. The only staff that have left were me and my manager in my department.
2)The pressure of dealing with customers: I find it very difficult to satisfy all customers' need, especially when we have shortage of staff. You can never imagine how bad a customer can yell in your voicemail or in front of you unless you have worked in customer-oriented environment before.
3)Involvement in Priase & Worship, Coffee House and fellowship. I enjoy serving God in these activities. Yet, I was overwhelmed after exhausting all my energy at work.

God never say life would be easy. I was reminded by God in the song "God Will Make A Way" in our Priase & Worship last Friday.

"...where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see...
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way. He will make a way..."

I will pray that I can have a peaceful heart and faith in Him in my life.
